How many times does a disabled person have to reapply to actually get approved for benefits?

Unfortunately, there are people who can’t wait to turn 67 to receive social security benefits. Illness does not wait for us to get older; it comes unexpectedly, and at the wrong time. We don’t anticipate having our lives turned around from happiness to pain and sorrows. In fact, we look forward to lead a normal and happy life. We want to be able to work and take care of our children without having to worry about next day.

Does anybody know someone who has a death wish? We should be out of our minds to think of that. I find it very sad to know there are sufferers left out in the cold without any medical care. Many people die before they even get qualified for social security benefits. The question is why? Why does the disability department let people in pain suffer for so long, and even die without help? The excuses are: lack of funds, not enough staffing, work overload or not qualified even though it is.

Those who suffer don’t have the luxury and time to wait for a decision nobody knows. Pain alone can take someone’s life, why is it so hard to believe? I think I know the answer: “it is not me suffering”, a careless and inhumane thought. I am sure if any of those who make decisions over someone else’s life were suffering, would not wait another second in pain to get the help they need.
People who are not able to hold jobs are looking for help, but get denied; therefore, they don’t have other means of support. Those with serious medical condition have to wait 12 months since their last employment to be considered disabled. Ill people without children get denied of any type of assistance, so how are they being expected to survive? Many sufferers had to give up their homes to survive.

Is that what United States is all about? Being selfish and careless of others does not pay off. Let us show we care; let’s make a better world for everyone.
